What do puppies do? They lick your face, your hands. They cuddle. They yip and yap. They look really cute. They act really cute.
Oh, yeah, Mom, I want a puppy. Please, please, please??? I’ll take care of it; I promise. I will, I will, I will! Puh-leeeeezzze!
What do puppies do? They eat, they sleep, they play, they pee (uh-oh!), they poop (double uh-oh!), they chew on stuff (yikes! Their teeth are sharp!), they vomit, they get diarrhea, they need shots (maybe we can avoid that vomit and diarrhea), and did I mention they eat? Puppies cost money, oh yeah! And, oh, I almost forgot! They grow! And they knock things down. And sometimes break things.
How much time? How much money? Oh my goodness! I don’t think I have that much time or money.
Those cute, wiggly little puppies are hard to resist, though, aren’t they? Sure, go ahead and get the puppy. You’ll figure out something.
STOP!
Now read paragraph three again. Are you having any doubts at all?
Be honest.
Yeah, I thought so. Now listen, this is important. Before you get a puppy, you need to ask yourself (and your family) a few questions. What questions? Come back tomorrow for a list.
